The world's first LED surgery light

ACEM research manufacturers of the superb Ultima X-ray units have developed this new light from concept to production to create a truly exceptional and innovative light - STARLED3.

The new light is based on LED (Light Emitting Diodes) technology and as such offers exceptional performance advantages over conventional halogen lighting, including true cold, white light with long life and superb efficiency.
LED produces a light beam without infrared rays (IR) and therefore without heat, this cold light will not alter or change the target temperature, it also means the operator too remains cool and unaffected by the light.

Thanks to new LED technology light is emitted from semi-conductors and the colour is controlled by microprocessor to give a colour temperature of 5,000°K, which is comparable to that of natural sunlight. All other lights even the very best halogen lights work at around 4000°K and look yellow in comparison.

LEDs are semiconductors. For this reason they boast an average life of more than 100 times that of normal bulbs. That's nearly 6 years continuous use or nearly 50 years at average usage.

While the standard halogen bulb starts loosing efficiency from its first stage of use, high-powered LED have a very linear yield and a negligible performance decay for their life duration.

The advantage of LED light is that the light colour is programmed into the Light Emitting Diode and can be tuned to get the desired light colour temperature. In the StarLED3 this is programmed to 5,000ºK - which is the same temperature as natural daylight.

All halogen light sources even with filters fall in to the region of
 4 -4,500ºK this temperature has hues of yellow, which get progressively yellow over time due to performance decay.
The new LED lamps allow you work with the correct light as adapted to the human eye - which means better colour contrast and less eyestrain.

Additionally, the light is absolutely cold, keeping delicate tissues fresh and you the user cool.
